Go to Start > Settings > And choose Control Panel. The Control Panel will pop up.
Go to the Security Center and click Automatic Updates located at the lower left part of the window. This is to make sure that the Automatic Updates are turned off. If not, select "Turn off automatic updates." A notification will appear in your system tray prompting you to turn the Automatic Updates on.
Go back to the Security Center window and at the left part, you can see the "Resources". Under the Resources, click "Change the way Security Center alerts me". The Alert Settings window will pop up and now you can uncheck the box at the side of Automatic Updates.
